The third meeting of the Ad Hoc Open-Ended Working Group of Legal and Technical Experts on Liability and Redress will be held from 19 to 23 February 2007 at the premises of the International Civil Aviation Organization in Montreal, Canada. 

During its previous two meetings, the Working Group has analysed issues and elaborated options for elements of rules and procedures in the field of liability and redress for damage resulting from the transboundary movements of living modified organisms. At its third meeting, the Working Group will continue this work on the basis of a working draft prepared by the Co-Chairs.

A Memorandum of Understanding between the Convention on Biological Diversity and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) was signed today in Montreal at the margins of the third meeting of the Ad Hoc Open-ended Working Group on Liability and Redress in the Context of the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety by Taïeb Cherif, Secretary General of ICAO and Ahmed Djoghlaf, the Executive Secretary of the Convention.
