The TEEB for Agriculture & Food International Symposium, taking place from 25-27 February 2019 in Nairobi, will bring together stakeholders, partners and experts involved in “The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity (TEEB)” project to discuss how to apply the TEEBAgriFood Evaluation Framework to assess the impacts of diverse “eco-agri-food systems” and policy interventions in different country contexts. The event will provide an opportunity to share experiences and lessons learned, building on case studies being presented from Brazil, China, Colombia, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Senegal, Tanzania and Thailand.
The event is convened by UN Environment Programme (UNEP) with support from the European Union, the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMU), and the Global Alliance for the Future of Food.
The Symposium will take place on 26-27 February and will be preceded by a one-day training workshop on 25 February for TEEB project staff focusing on scenario development, biophysical modelling and communication of research results.
TEEBAgriFood is a multi-disciplinary study programme that explores the nexus between environment and agri-food systems. It aims to provide a comprehensive and universal framework to evaluate eco-agri-food systems to guide analysis and to better inform policy makers, farmers, agri-businesses and consumers.
