The thirteenth meeting of the Persistent Organic Pollutants Review Committee (POPRC-13) will be held from Tuesday, 17th to Friday, 20th October 2017 at the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) headquarters in Rome, Italy. At this meeting, POPRC, a committee of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants, is scheduled to consider draft risk management evaluations on dicofol, pentadecafluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), its salts and PFOA-related compounds, as well as a proposal submitted by Norway for the inclusion of perfluorohexane sulfonic acid (PFHxS), its salts and PFHxS-related compounds in Annexes A, B and/or C to the Convention.

The Committee will also discuss draft terms of reference for the assessment of alternatives to PFOS, its salts and PFOSF, in accordance with the evaluation process stipulated in paragraphs 5 (evaluation of continued need) and 6 (review of evaluation) of part III of Annex B to the Convention. It will also discuss a report on activities for effective participation in the work of the Committee and the workplan for the intersessional period between the thirteenth and fourteenth meetings of the Committee.
