On Thursday morning, 5 November, Ministers and other CSLF participants flew to Dhahran for a closer view of Saudi Aramco operations. The first event was a welcome programme and reception, during which they: saw a Saudi Aramco promotional video highlighting the company’s work to provide energy and opportunity to a growing world population while pursuing its goal of increasing efficiency and managing GHGs; heard remarks from Mr. Amin Nasser, President and CEO, Saudi Aramco, on Saudi Aramco’s cutting-edge work in CCS; were given overviews of Saudi Aramco’s work and its developments in carbon management; and were given video and live presentations on initiatives and operations of the the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC). Participants were then given a tour of some of Saudi Aramco’s Dhahran facilities, including the Oil Supply Planning and Scheduling (OSPAS) center, the Upstream Professional Development Center (UPDC), and the GeoSteering department at the Exploration and Petroleum Engineering Center (EXPEC). A luncheon was then hosted by Mr. Amin Nasser, and closing remarks were given by H.E. Ali Al-Naimi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, who expressed his great appreciation to all who had attended the week’s CSLF events.
