The seventh High Level Assembly (HLA) of the Climate and Clean Air Coalition to Reduce Short-Lived Climate Pollutants (CCAC) will take place on 8 December 2015 in Paris, France, on the margins of the 21st session of the Conference of Parties (COP 21) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

The CCAC is a voluntary international coalition of governments, international organizations and non-governmental organizations, which focuses on addressing short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs). It was created in February 2012 by Bangladesh, Canada, Ghana, Mexico, Sweden and the US, together with the UN Environment Programme. It is open to countries and non-state actors wishing to join the coalition.

The role of the High Level Assembly of the Coalition partners is to set policy, take stock of progress and initiate future efforts. The seventh CCAC HLA will endorse and launch the implementation plan of the CCAC’s 5-Year Strategy, as agreed during the sixth HLA in May 2015. The Strategy is geared towards widespread adoption and implementation of policies, regulations and practices to substantially reduce SLCP emissions. Also during the meeting, each country, company and organization that is part of the CCAC will have the opportunity to share its recent successes, as well as to outline the role it intends to play in reducing SLCP emissions, domestically and globally, over the next 5 years.
