IISD Reporting Services has expanded into producing short films from key international meetings. Here is our video from the seventh meeting of the Pilot Program on Climate Resilience (PPCR) Pilot Countries, in association with the Climate Investment Funds, which convened last week in Washington, D.C.

Summary for Friday, 3 May 2013

On Friday, the seventh meeting of the Pilot Program on Climate Resilience (PPCR) Pilot Countries convened for the final day, with participants continuing practical discussions on monitoring and reporting. They heard a presentation on the core indicator guidance sheet, took part in a "core indicator quiz" and reviewed and "road tested" specific core indicators. Participants then provided feedback on the use of the core indicators against country monitoring and reporting plans.

In the afternoon, participants heard a presentation on the process and selection of learning priorities for the 2014 financial year, including hydromet and climate services, and review of the activities from the first funding phase. A session on private sector action on climate-resilient development followed, as well as a roundtable discussion of private sector involvement in pilot countries' PPCR projects.

The CIF Administrative Unit also presented a summary of the private sector "competitive set aside" under the PPCR, its procedures and criteria, after which participants had a final opportunity for discussion. The meeting was closed at 4:26 pm.
