During the Fiji / Bonn Climate Change Conference - November 2017, an event hosted by the US Climate Action Alliance, US governors discussed actions they are taking to fight climate change and transition to clean energy.
The Katowice Climate Change Conference is scheduled to take place from 2-14 December 2018, in Katowice, Poland. Side events and special events will begin on Monday, 3 December 2018.
Over 200 hundred side events are scheduled to take place during the two weeks of the Conference. Side events are an excellent opportunity for a wide range of organizations, from governments and international organizations, to civil society and private sector organizations, to highlight an array of important climate change issues at UNFCCC conferences. These events provide a platform for information dissemination, capacity building, policy discussions and legitimizing global governance.
This year, the events will cover the following themes related to future governance arrangements under the Paris Agreement. These include:
- Enhancing ambition;
- Promoting implementation; and
- Providing support.
IISD Reporting Services, through its ENB+ Meeting Coverage, is providing daily web coverage from selected side events at the Katowice Climate Change Conference – December 2018.
