Bonn Climate Change Conference - June 2014

The Bonn Climate Change Conference of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) continued on Wednesday, 11 June.

The Ad Hoc Working Group on the Durban Platform for Enhanced Action (ADP) convened in a contact group throughout the day, and focused on transparency of action and support, and intended nationally determined contributions (INDCs). Transparency discussions addressed differentiation; transparency of action and support; and accounting rules. During INDC discussions, interventions covered: the definition of INDCs; key aspects of INDCs; scope of INDCs; and the process for developing INDCs.

Under ADP workstream 2 (pre-2020 ambition), the Thematic Expert Meeting (TEM) on Land Use took place throughout the day, and focused on: policies, practices and technology; implementing actions, including finance, technology and capacity building; and ways forward.

The third part of the 2nd Dialogue on Article 6 (education, training and public awareness) took place in the morning, and the first part of the In-session Workshop on Long-term Climate Finance convened in the afternoon, addressing the subject of updated strategies and approaches for scaled-up climate finance from 2014-2020.

A number of informal consultations and contact groups under the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI) and the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) also took place.
