First Caribbean Sustainable Energy Forum (CSEF)

24–26 June 2008 | Grenada

As a follow-up up to the 2007 meeting on “Energy Efficiency for Developing Countries”, the First Caribbean Sustainable Energy Forum (CSEF) took place from 24-26 June 2008 at Taylor Hall, St. George's University, Grenada. The Forum was facilitated by the Austrian Development Cooperation together with the German Technical Cooperation Agency (GTZ).

The CSEF focuses on energy efficiency, renewable energy and energy security for Small Island Developing States. The CSEF is held in conjunction with the 4th Caribbean Environmental Forum & Exhibition (CEF-4), the main sustainable development and environmental forum in the Caribbean. CEF-4 brings together a wide and diverse cross section of stakeholders concerned with or involved in environmental and developmental issues.
The Global Forum on Sustainable Energy (GFSE) facilitates dialogue between key players and encourages public-private cooperation in the field of sustainable energy.  The Forum is an established multi-stakeholder platform and a reliable partner in the field of international energy-for-sustainable-development. It contributes to both international discourse and information dissemination on sustainable energy.

GFSE plays a crucial role in facilitating sustainable energy projects, by bringing together donors, investors and project developers. Their interaction produces new opportunities and enhances existing initiatives in the field of sustainable energy.

The previous GFSE meeting took place in 2007, in Vienna, Austria. More information.
