UNCCD CRIC 15 will at UNON

IISD Reporting Services - UNCCD The fifteenth Session of the Committee for the Review of the Implementation of the Convention (CRIC 15) to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) will take place at UN Headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, from 18-20 October 2016. In its decision 15/COP.12, the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the UNCCD, agreed that rather than holding a regular country reporting exercise, CRIC 15 would be a special intersessional session to focus on methodological issues relating to a possible future strategic framework for the Convention.

Other items on the CRIC 15 agenda will include a review of financing options and best practices in the implementation of the Convention.

CRIC 15 will also provide an opportunity for countries that submitted voluntary reports, as well as those who have embarked on their Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN) target-setting process to share their experiences.

CRIC 15 will be preceded by regional consultations of affected country Parties of the (Regional Implementation Annexes), from 16-17 October 2016.
