Summary

IPCC Chair Hoesung Lee consults with IPCC Vice-Chair Ko Barrett, Youba Sokona and Thelma Krug.

IPCC 52 continued on Tuesday morning, 25 February, with delegates expressing appreciation for the opportunity to provide general and specific comments, ask questions and hear explanations from the IPCC Vice-Chairs on the structure and indicative bullet points of the proposed outline for the Synthesis Report (SYR) of the Sixth Assessment Report (AR6). Many delegates expressed a sense of confidence that their comments and questions raised on the content of the bulleted outline would be useful for the authors going forward.Following general comments on the outline, IPCC Chair Lee and the IPCC Vice-Chairs laid out their proposal for the organization of work for the SYR outline, including listening to comments on each section before presenting a revised outline on Thursday morning.Delegates also discussed the IPCC Gender Policy and Implementation Plan. In the afternoon, delegates heard a report from the Task Group on the Organization of the Future Work of the IPCC in Light of the Global Stocktake (TG-FWLGST), which included various options for alignment with the GST under the UNFCCC. While many welcomed the work of the Task Group and its proposed options, views diverged on preferred options.

Earth Negotiations Bulletin (ENB) has provided daily web updates and a summary and analysis report from IPCC-52. The summary and analysis report is now available in HTML and PDF.
