Side events during the Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development will provide a space for dialogue on themes related to the ARFSD 7 agenda. The ARFSD provides a multi-stakeholder platform for the follow-up and review of progress and challenges in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.

The overall objective of ARFSD 7 is to conduct a regional follow-up and review of progress made, facilitate peer learning, and advance transformative actions to accelerate implementation of both Agendas.

The Forum will be preceded by, among other meetings, a regional workshop on voluntary national reviews and voluntary local reviews to be submitted to the 2021 High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development. In addition, a number of side events will take place both before and during the Forum.

In the light of challenges posed by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Forum will be held in a hybrid format that will provide for both in-person and virtual participation.

The Earth Negotiations Bulletin will provide coverage of selected side events taking place during the Forum. Reports, photos, and videos from selected side events will be posted at the conclusion of each event. Please return to this page for updates.
