Briefing for Wednesday, 05 May

Working Group 1 held discussions on forest research, promoting and facilitating implementation of the IPF proposals for action, forest-related work of international and regional organizations and monitoring progress in implementation of the IPF proposals for action. Working Group 2 met briefly in the morning to address assessment, monitoring and rehabilitation of forest cover in environmentally critical areas. Following this session, contact groups on trade and environment and the transfer of ESTs began deliberations in earnest.
