The 2017 High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF 2017) convenes from 10 to 19 July 2017, at UN Headquarters in New York. The HLPF is the central UN platform for the follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted in 2015.

The first week of HLPF 2017 will focus on the theme of “Eradicating poverty and promoting prosperity in a changing world”. Six SDGs will be reviewed in depth: Goal 1 (no poverty); Goal 2 (zero hunger); Goal 3 (good health and well-being); Goal 5 (gender equality); Goal 9 (industry, innovation and infrastructure); and Goal 14 (life below water). Goal 17, on means of implementation and partnerships, will be considered every year.

A three-day ministerial meeting will take place during the second week (17-19 July), which will also be part of the High-level Segment of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). A Joint Ministerial Declaration of the HLPF and ECOSOC High-level Segment will be adopted at the end of HLPF on 19 July, and by the ECOSOC High-level Segment on 20 July.

In addition, 44 countries will present Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs) on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda during the second week of HLPF 2017.

IISD Reporting Services, through its Earth Negotiations Bulletin (ENB) Meeting Coverage, provided daily web coverage, daily reports from HLPF 2017 and also produced a summary and analysis report, which is available in HTML and PDF.
