Delegates discussed the way forward on enhancing the Treaty’s Multilateral System, with a focus on the key issues at the heart of debates: digital sequence information/genetic sequence data; expansion of the list of crops in Annex I of the Treaty; and the payment structure and rates for benefit-sharing.

This event considered how agricultural research organizations are increasingly using DSI to improve their work to conserve crop and livestock genetic diversity and to use genetic diversity in their plant and animal breeding programmes
