The Ocean Conference The event “Mainstreaming Biodiversity in Fisheries for Human Well-being,” co-organized by the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and the Fisheries Agency of Japan, took place on 9 June 2017 at the UN Headquarters in New York. Representatives of governments, scientific institutes, international organizations and civil society discussed ways to harmonize and coordinate efforts taking place in biodiversity and fisheries so as to ensure the convergence of the two agendas for the achievement of their mutual objectives.
