The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is the United Nations body for assessing the science related to climate change. The IPCC provides regular assessments of the scientific basis of climate change, its impacts and future risks, and options for adaptation and mitigation.

42nd Session of the IPCC (IPCC-42)
The Panel elected Hoesung Lee of the Republic of Korea as IPCC Chair for the sixth assessment cycle, along with oother members of the IPCC Bureau and the Task Force Bureau.
41st Session of the IPCC (IPCC-41)
IPCC-41 had on its agenda the future work of the IPCC, including consideration of the recommendations by the Task Group on the Future Work of the IPCC, and a decision on size, structure, and composition of the IPCC Bureau and any Task Force Bureau.
40th Session of the IPCC (IPCC-40)
IPCC delegates finalized the Synthesis Report's Summary for Policymakers line by line, and adopted the longer Synthesis Report section by section.
12th Session of the IPCC Working Group III and 39th session of the IPCC (IPCC-39)
Delegates met in plenary and informally to consider the Working Group III contribution to the IPCC Fifth Assessment Report on mitigation of climate change, finally approving the summary for policymakers and accepting the underlying report.
10th Session of the IPCC Working Group II and 38th session of the IPCC (IPCC-38)
Delegates met to consider the Working Group II contribution to the IPCC Fifth Assessment Report, covering Climate Change Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability. At the end of the meeting, delegates approved the Summary for Policymakers and accepted the underlying report including the Technical Summary and annexes.
37th Session of the IPCC (IPCC-37)
The IPCC considered and adopted two methodology reports: “2013 Supplement to the 2006 IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories: Wetlands” and “2013 Revised Supplementary Methods and Good Practice Guidance Arising from the Kyoto Protocol.” Delegates also held initial discussions on mapping the future of the IPCC and addressed a range of procedural matters.
12th Session of IPCC Working Group I (WGI) and 36th session of the IPCC (IPCC-36)
IPCC delegates met in plenary and contact groups to consider the Working Group I contribution to the IPCC Fifth Assessment Report titled, “Climate Change 2013: The Physical Science Basis” and finally approved the Summary for Policymakers, accepting the underlying report including the Technical Summary and annexes.
35th Session of the IPCC (IPCC-35)
Talks focused on work resulting from the consideration of the InterAcademy Council Review of IPCC processes and procedures, namely those on: governance and management; procedures for the IPCC reports; and the communications strategy.
34th Session of the IPCC (IPCC-34)
The IPCC adopted the revised Procedures for the Preparation, Review, Acceptance, Adoption, Approval and Publication of IPCC Reports, as well as the Implementation Procedures and Disclosure Form for the Conflict of Interest Policy. The Panel also formally accepted the Summary for Policy Makers of the Special Report on Managing the Risks of Extreme Events and Disasters to Advance Climate Change Adaptation.
33rd Session of the IPCC (IPCC-33)
The IPCC decided to establish an Executive Committee, adopted a Conflict of Interest Policy, and introduced several changes to the rules of procedure as well as accepting the Summary for Policymakers of the Special Report on Renewable Energy Sources and Climate Change Mitigation.
