Bernard Soubry is a researcher, writer, and part-time farmer from Canada whose work focuses on the intersection of climate change and food systems. A writer with Earth Negotiations Bulletin since 2018, he follows climate and biodiversity governance processes, with particular interests in agriculture, climate mitigation, and the role of science in negotiations.
Beyond his time in ENB, Bernard also lends his hands as a bicycle mechanic and as a farmer and field-hand. His poems have been published in Riddle Fence, RISE, and Rising Tides (Caitlin Press, 2019). He holds degrees from Mount Allison University (Canada) and the University of Oxford (UK). His home bread-baking skills have been described as “intimidatingly good.”
