Lagipoiva Cherelle Jackson is a writer and editor for Earth Negotiations Bulletin. A Samoan journalist and scholar, she covers climate, chemicals, and oceans processes for ENB.
Lagipoiva’s journalism and media development work focuses on environment, gender, and human rights in Small Island Developing States with a particular focus on the way international media covers the climate crisis in islands. She has worked for numerous news agencies including AP, AFP, and Al Jazeera. She currently writes for The Guardian and is the editor of Pacific Environment Weekly.
She has received awards for her climate and human rights reporting and is a recipient of fellowships from the Reuters Institute, Rockefeller Foundation, Dart Center for Journalism and Trauma, and Rutgers University.
Lagipoiva is working on a Ph.D focusing on the state sovereignty implications of the climate crisis on small islands.
