María Ovalle is an environmental analyst and researcher interested in governance, behavioral transformation, biodiversity, planetary boundaries, and earth sciences.

She is a former Chilean government delegate at environmental multilateral fora and negotiations, including CBD, BBNJ, and ISA. With more than ten years of experience at local, national, and international levels,

Maria’s roles have included waste and pollutants management, strategic & impact environment assessment, ocean affairs, biodiversity conservation, and others. 

She enjoys learning, analyzing, teaching, and communicating environmental-related issues. She loves good conversation, diving, exploring, and discovering new places.

She is a Renewable Natural Resource Ingenieree from the University of Chile and holds an International Relations Master Degree from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica of Valparaiso.
