Noémie Laurens is a postdoctoral researcher in International Relations at the Geneva Graduate Institute. A French national, she holds a PhD in political science from Laval University, Canada. Her research deals with when, why, and how international environmental agreements evolve, as well as the nexus between international trade and environmental politics. She has several publications on these subjects, including in the World Trade Review, International Studies Quarterly, Global Environmental Politics, Climate Policy, and the Review of International Political Economy.

One of her publications, dealing with the evolution processes of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification, has won the Oran R. Young Prize awarded by the Earth System Governance Project, which seeks to reward cutting-edge research on earth system governance by early career scholars. 

When she is not writing, Noémie enjoys cooking delicious vegan meals and walking in nature for hours.
