Virginia Wiseman
Team Leader, Writer, and Editor
Virginia Wiseman is a Team Leader and Writer for the Earth Negotiations Bulletin. Her areas of interest and expertise lie in climate change mitigation and renewable energy development. In addition to her work with ENB, she develops wind and solar projects in the western United States.
In previous capacities, Virginia has researched and written about multilateral climate and energy policy with IISD’s SDG Knowledge Hub and Global Subsidies Initiative. She also tracked Renewable Portfolio Standard compliance in Washington and Oregon for Renewable Northwest.
Virginia has also worked in public diplomacy in the Bureau of International Information Programs at the U.S. Department of State and as a Campus Organizer for the California Public Interest Research Group (CALPIRG) in Los Angeles, training CALPIRG students to organize social and environmental campaigns.
Virginia graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Middlebury College (Middlebury, VT) in 2008 and received her Master of Arts in International Relations and Economics, concentrating in Energy, Resources, and the Environment, from the Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) (Bologna, Italy/Washington DC) in 2014.
In her spare time, Virginia loves a good hike, ballet class, or a chance to go snowboarding.
