The Seoul Post-2015 Global Development Conference will take place on 7 October 2013 in Seoul, Republic of Korea. The conference is being organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Korea, and the UN Development Programme (UNDP), on the theme “implementation and implications.”
The aim of the conference is to identify trends and challenges for implementation of the post-2015 development framework, and to inform the work of UNDP, the UN Development Group (UNDG) and the UN Task Team. Focusing on how the new global development framework will work, participants will provide a platform for experts and stakeholders to: exchange opinions, analysis and aspirations for the implementation of a global development framework to 2030; and help define specific challenges in each area of development and discuss how they can contribute to implementing the future framework more broadly.
Conference participants will consider lessons and challenges from the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and current discussions shaping the post-2015 development agenda, including the work of the High Level Panel on the Post-2015 Development Agenda (HLP), the UNDG and the Open Working Group (OWG) on Sustainable Development Goals.
