The initial discussions on the “zero draft” of the outcome document for the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20) continued on 26 January 2012. During the morning, representatives from governments, UN and intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations continued presenting opening comments on the zero draft. During the afternoon, delegates introduced their amendments to the first two sections of the zero draft. Amendments that had previously been submitted to the Secretariat were projected onto the overhead screen, and new proposals were added into the text. Co-Chair Kim Sook noted that, with the proposals, the Preamble/Stage Setting and Renewing Political Commitment sections had grown from 2.5 pages to 31 pages.
