On Monday, 12 December 2016, the event “Innovative Approaches for Ensuring Effectiveness and Sustainability: Capacity Development Measures for Coastal and Marine Biodiversity” took place at the Convention of Biological Diversity COP13. Presented by the Wildlife Institute of India (WII), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB), this video by IISD Reporting Services provides an overview of the event. Addressing the challenges of biodiversity loss in coastal areas in India, the event presented specific approaches to build human capacity for development and shared specific effective and sustainable training materials.
