THINGS TO LOOK FOR IN THE COMING WEEK

Ambassador Razali announced the schedule for next week's meetings of the open-ended ad hoc working group on UNCED-related issues on Wednesday, 11 November. The group is scheduled to meet on Wednesday, 18 November at 3:00 pm; Thursday, 19 November at 10:00 am and at 6:00 pm; Friday, 20 November at 3:00 pm; and Saturday, 21 November at 10:00 am. It is possible that Saturday's meeting may be rescheduled. It is likely that the Razali Group will be able to finish its work on some of the resolutions under its mandate during the course of the week. Those most likely to be completed are the enabling resolution on UNCED, the resolution on the sustainable development of small island developing States, and the resolution on the convention to combat desertification and/or drought. Negotiations on high seas fisheries will probably get underway mid-week and negotiations on the Commission on Sustainable Development will continue through the week.

The next issue of the Earth Negotiations Bulletin will not be published until the end of the General Assembly's consideration of UNCED-related issues in December. However, informal summaries of the proceedings of the Razali Group will be uploaded after each meeting in the APC computer conference en.unced.news.
