UGANDA:

The representative said that there is insufficient funding available for combating desertification. The case for new and additional funding must be recognized. He appealed to the international community to support early implementation for Africa with regard to finance and technology. The interim secretariat should undertake activities on issues such as the financial mechanism and the Committee on Science and Technology.
