CSD HIGHLIGHTS: THURSDAY, 18 APRIL 1996

On the first day of the fourth session of the Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD-4), delegates heard introductory statements at the opening Plenary and a progress report on the Intergovernmental Panel on Forests. They also considered several cross- sectoral issues (technology, education, capacity building, trade, poverty, population, decision-making, institutions, major groups and national reporting) and participated in a panel discussion on education.
