Selected topics for recommendations include increasing the political commitment of Governments to formulate, implement and evaluate their national population programmes and strengthening their capacity to enlist the cooperation of the private sector, NGOs, academia, the mass media and other influential groups, and to foster the grassroots participation of programme beneficiaries.
