XVI. PARTNERSHIPS WITH NON-GOVERNMENTAL GROUPS, INCLUDING NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS, THE PRIVATE SECTOR AND LOCAL COMMUNITY GROUPS

Selected topics for recommendations include: creating suitable mechanisms and frameworks to enhance the role of non-governmental organizations in the field of population; promoting the effective use of the experience and resources of the private sector to achieve population and development goals; and ensuring the participation of local communities in the formulation and implementation of population policies and programmes.

XVII. FOLLOW-UP

A. Implementation: Recommendations could include ensuring the integration of population concerns in governmental, non-governmental and international development efforts through appropriate arrangements.
