HIGH SEAS FISHERIES CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS: MONDAY, 26 JULY 1993

The delegates met in an informal session on Monday to discuss the Chair's draft paper on compliance and enforcement. There was confusion at the beginning of the session when some delegates asked if this was a draft of the final paper. The Chair insisted that this was not a drafting session and this paper was only to provide a framework for discussion. All the delegates commended the Chair on his paper, but some called for more detailed measures and for strengthening certain points.
