XI. REVIEW OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF CONSERVATION AND MANAGEMENT MEASURES

This chapter was not discussed during the course of the meeting. The Chair's negotiating text says that States as well as subregional and regional organizations and arrangements concerned with the conservation and management of these stocks shall implement the foregoing measures based on their capacities and the needs of the region. They should report biennially to the UN Secretary-General, who will submit a report to the General Assembly. A full review will take place in five years when the Conference will assess the adequacy of the provisions and, if necessary, propose means of strengthening the substance and methods of implementation to address any continuing problems.
