CHAPTER II. ERADICATION OF POVERTY

The basis for action for this chapter refers to the one billion people in the world living under unacceptable conditions of poverty. This section notes that poverty has various manifestations and origins and can only be eradicated through universal access to economic opportunities and basic social services and empowerment. A sentence on the origins of poverty in political, legal, economic, cultural and social structures remains bracketed.
