Fossil of the Day Award

A Lifetime Achievement was awarded to Mohammed Al Sabban for his consistency in obstructing the negotiating process and in working for the global fossil fuel big business; The Fossil of the Day went today to Costa Rica for President Miguel Angel Rodriguez Echeverria's speech in favor of the inclusion of forest conservation in the CDM. According to Milieu Defensie, this plays into the US hands and helps them avoid emissions reductions.

Jan Pronk got the Special Award for showering the Umbrella Group with "free gifts" such as plantations and licenses to pollute in the CDM, no caps on hot air, and undeserved credit for sinks at home. Thus, they say, "COP-6 has been Pronked."
