Participants during the 54th GEF Council Meeting
The 55th meeting of the GEF Council will take place from 17-20 December 2018, in Washington, DC. Agenda items will include:
- Improving operational efficiency, accountability and transparency;
- Policy on Access to Information;
- Updated Policy on Environmental and Social Safeguards;
- Harmonizing the Rules and Requirements for All Agencies;
- Review of Minimum Fiduciary Standards;
- GEF-7 Non-Grant Instrument Program;
- Work Program;
- Options for a Responsible Investment Strategy; and
- Report from the Ad-hoc Working Group on Governance.
In addition, GEF Council members will hear the report of the Chair of the Scientific and Technical Advisory Panel and will consider the Semi-Annual Evaluation Report November 2017 and Management Response as well as the Annual Portfolio Monitoring Report 2018.
Delegates will also convene as the 25th meeting of the Council for the Least Developed Countries Fund and the Special Climate Change Fund (LDCF/SCCF) on 20 December 2018.
The Council meeting will be preceded by a consultation with civil society organizations (CSOs) on Monday, 17 December 2018. This one-day discussion will include a dialogue with the GEF CEO and will consider agenda items on civil society participation in the seventh replenishment of the GEF (GEF-7) and Connecting Environmental Impact and Gender Equality.
