FORMATION OF THE INC-D SECRETARIAT:

During the next few months, Ambassador Arba Diallo will be busy establishing the INC-D Secretariat in Geneva. At present, the offices will be located in the former UNCED headquarters in Conches, where the Swiss government has extended the use of the facility until 1 April. Negotiations are still underway with the Swiss Government for permanent office space. In the meantime, the Secretariat can be reached at POB 80, 1231 Conches, Geneva, Switzerland; tel: (41-22) 789-1676; fax: (41-22) 789-3536.

The Secretariat will probably grow to 10 or 12 professionals (with 2 or 3 seconded from governments or UN agencies) and four general services staff members. Diallo has yet to select his Deputy, but chances are that "she" will be chosen within the next two weeks.
