DRAFTING THE FORMAT OF THE CONVENTION
: Based on the
contributions of the panel of experts, the results of the Chair's
intersessional consultations, and the drafts prepared by the
inter-agency working party, the Secretariat may begin to put
together a draft format for the convention. This document, which
may be presented at the first substantive session in Nairobi, will
probably incorporate ideas from previous conventions and
submissions from governments, such as the 40-page draft convention
prepared by Algeria and the Egyptian position paper currently in
circulation.
