NATIONAL REPORTS ON POPULATION

ICPD Secretary-General Nafis Sadik requested that all Governments prepare a National Report on Population for the Conference. The reports should highlight the population situation, policies and programmes unique to each country and should focus on the lessons learned and the constraints encountered in the implementation of population programmes. Governments were supposed to submit their reports to the ICPD Secretariat by 30 September 1993. As of that date, the following 18 countries had submitted their reports: Burundi, Central African Republic, Cook Islands, Ecuador, Fiji, Kiribati, Liberia, Madagascar, Mali, Micronesia, Niger, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Western Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.
