PHILIPPINES:
The Philippines is the 31st country to ratify
the Convention. Subject to further GEF funding, the country hopes
to establish and manage ten priority sites as part of an integrated
protected areas project. As well, the Philippines Council for
Sustainable Development, recently created to implement Agenda 21,
is based on a broad multisectoral and consultative approach.
