BURUNDI:

Burundi hopes to ratify the Convention by the end of 1993. In spite of its many demographic difficulties, Burundi has had a vigorous nature conservation policy for over ten years. Burundi cited the good management of biodiversity as essential to ensuring food supply for most of its population and, in this vein, made an appeal for funding.
