REPUBLIC OF KOREA:

The process of ratification will likely be concluded by early 1994. Since UNCED, the Prime Minister has established a committee to address environmental issues, including biodiversity. Korea stated its plans to further study the state of biodiversity, to expand its protected areas, and to apply EIAs to all socio-economic fields of activity. Korea also emphasized its support for equal access to biodiversity and related technologies.
