The second meeting of the Open-Ended Working Group (OEWG2) of the International Conference on Chemicals Management (ICCM) convened for its final day of deliberations on Wednesday, 17 December 2014, in Geneva, Switzerland. The day opened with reports from the OOG and EPI Contact Groups and the Friends of the Chair Group on HHPs. Delegates then discussed planned activities and draft budget of the Secretariat for the period 2016–2020 and preparations for ICCM4. Delegates also held a moment of silence in commemoration of the recent deaths of Theo Colborn, a scientist and co-author of "Our Stolen Future" on EDCs, and Matthew Gubb, former SAICM Coordinator. In the afternoon delegates examined and offered corrections to the meeting report and heard closing statements. UNEP Chemicals Branch Head Fatoumata Keita-Ouane, who will retire before ICCM4, gave a farewell speech and received a gift of appreciation from the African Group for her years of service in the chemicals field.
