Seventh Meeting of the Persistent Organic Pollutants Review Committee (POPRC7) to the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs)

Highlights for Friday, 14 October 2011
Sixth Meeting of the POPRC

On Friday, POPRC-7 met in a morning plenary to finalize its work. The Committee adopted decisions on: effective participation in the work of the Committee, climate change and POPs, the assessment of alternatives to endosulfan and to DDT, BDEs and debromination of BDEs.

The POPRC did not reach a decision on PCP and agreed to a proposed work programme which includes: inviting stakeholders to conduct studies on PCP in relevant environmental conditions and establishing an intersessional working group to prepare the outcome of the work programme for consideration at POPRC-8.

After adopting the report of the meeting, Chair Reiner Arndt gaveled the meeting to a close at 1:06 pm.

ENB’s summary and analysis of POPRC-7 will be available on Monday, 17 October 2011.
