Seventh Meeting of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs INC-7)

Delegates met in Plenary sessions throughout the day on Friday 18 July and in a Budget Group session in the morning. In morning Plenary, delegates discussed effectiveness evaluation, POPs wastes, POPs Review Committee terms of reference, draft rules of procedure, and financial rules. The Budget Group met in the morning to conclude recommendations on the budget for 2003-4 and the format of the budget to be presented to COP-1 and presented its findings to Plenary in the afternoon. In the afternoon, delegates addressed outstanding issues, including the budget, financial resources and mechanisms, information exchange, and dispute settlement. The Plenary concluded the meeting by reviewing and adopting final decisions. INC Chair Buccini gaveled the meeting to a close at 7.45 pm.
