1st meeting of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI) The meeting agenda raised several matters referred to the SBI by the plenary of the Conference of Parties. One of these issues was the calendar of meetings of Convention bodies during 2000-2001 [COP agenda item 2(h)]. Some of the key interventions, as well as the Chairman's comments, follow: Chairman Bakary Kante (Senegal) introduces the issue, and Austria, on behalf of the EU, makes an intervention. The US suggests that future COPs alternate between being ministerial and non-ministerial Chairman Bakary Kante agrees to a consultative process to help reach a "compromise solution".
