The seventh meeting of the Pilot Program for Climate Resilience (PPCR), in association with the Climate Investment Fund (CIF) Trust Fund Committee and Sub-Committee meetings, will be held in Washington D.C., US, from 1-3 May 2013.
The PPCR provides funds to assist participating countries in integrating climate risk and resilience into core development planning and implementation through technical and investment support. These are country-led programmes that build on National Adaptation Programs of Action (NAPAs) and complement existing development efforts that are consistent with poverty reduction goals through providing incentives for scaled-up action, and initiating change towards for achieving climate resiliency at national level.
During the meeting, pilot countries and participating regions will share updates on the implementation progress and challenges of their Strategic Program for Climate Resilience (SPCR) as well as explore critical aspects of the PPCR process, including monitoring and reporting, country coordination, stakeholder engagement, knowledge management, and private sector involvement.
