Participants gather at the 9th CCAC High Level Assembly
The 10th meeting of the High Level Assembly of the Climate and Clean Air Coalition to Reduce Short-Lived Climate Pollutants (CCAC) will take place on the margins of the Katowice Climate Change Conference, December 2018.
The CCAC is a voluntary international coalition of governments, international organizations and non-governmental organizations, which focuses on addressing short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs). It was created in February 2012 by Bangladesh, Canada, Ghana, Mexico, Sweden and the US, together with the UN Environment Programme. It is open to countries and non-state actors wishing to join the coalition.
The role of the High Level Assembly of the Coalition partners is to set policy, take stock of progress and initiate future efforts. During the 10th meeting of the Assembly, CCAC ministers and leaders will:
- Share views about what the Coalition should do to increase climate ambition, bolstering the case for action by multiple benefits for climate and clean air;
- Finalise the “CCAC Talanoa Statement & Joint Statement” - the last chance to signal endorsement; and
- Launch a “CCAC Action Programme to Address the 1.5 C Challenge.”
The Assembly is for Coalition partners or by invitation.
