Some Parties expressed concern at the slow pace with which GEF funding for project development is being made available. They called on Parties to earmark funds from the GEF for least developed countries and urged donor countries to provide the financial means to ensure the ongoing operations of the GEF. The need for better guidance to the GEF was also raised.
