The potential contribution of sinks in lowering the cost of abatement action was raised. A number of parties advocated for sinks projects in CDM.

On the inclusion of land-use change in national inventories, the Alliance Of Small Island States (AOSIS) expressed concern that this may allow countries to recalculate their inventories and “erase” the bulk of what was achieved at Kyoto.
