Highlights for Wednesday, 27 October 2010 On Wednesday, 27 October 2010, the Delhi International Renewable Energy Conference (DIREC) convened in New Delhi, India. Over 9000 participants from governments, civil society, academia and the private sector met in the main conference hall, parallel workshops and attended an exposition with nearly 550 exhibitors.
During the morning, participants met in plenary to discuss the journey from Johannesburg to Delhi and the DIREC theme "up-scaling and mainstreaming renewables for energy security, climate change and economic development," among others.
In the afternoon, three parallel roundtables met, composed of ministers, Multistakeholders and CEOs, followed by a joint forum bringing together lessons from the three roundtables. |
